| 110 Gallon Tank Rack | |
| Simple two tank racks can be made from
pressure treated wood by creating two rectangular
frames, glued and nailed together. The frames are held
together at the right distance separated by cross
braces, attached to the front and back frames by angle
brackets. The rack in the center of the picture supports two 48
inch tanks, a 110 gallon tank on top and a 55 gallon tank below. A
75 gallon tank would have made better use of the space available.
To the right you can see the end of a rack holding two 125 gallon
tanks. There are two of these side by side for raising juveniles
to dime sized.
A layer of 1/2 inch homosote is placed beneath the tanks to allow for any unevenness in the wood frame. Homosote compresses and allows the tank frame to make better contact with it's support. |
